Eyre Business was proud to welcome emerging Western Australian Artist Nasanya ‘Sunny’ Ling to Kimba as part of the Kimba Art Prize in October 2025.

Her exhibition, Hope in the Wind, proved to be a wonderful success, and you can learn more about this event and the 1920s SpeakEasel Soiree hosted in Eyre Businesses below.

Hope in the Wind Exhibition

In collaboration with the 2025 Kimba Art Prize, the entertainment space located at the rear of Eyre Business was converted into a pop-up art gallery for the Hope in the Wind Exhibition.

The exhibit, held between the 10th and 22nd of October, showcased the whimsical and often nostalgic works of Sunny Ling as she took guests on a journey through her life, drawing on profound stories from her elders, community, and family.

1920’s SpeakEasel Soiree

In support of the Kimba Art Prize, Kath and Kerri at Eyre Business hosted a wonderful evening of music, painting, and canapes, with Sunny leading a progressive painting party to entertain members of the Kimba Community.

Welcomed with a glass of champagne and a photobooth for guests to take pictures with friends, Eyre Business was transformed into a 1920s speakeasy with music and décor to suit the occasion!

Dressed in 1920s attire, guests enjoyed Canapes from Eileen’s Café, Smoky Bay Oysters, Coffin Bay Spirits, and Boston Bay Wines as they were welcomed by Kath & Kerri, and Sunny introduced her work.

Guests enjoyed the evening, with many proud painters able to take their work home at the end of the night!

The Kimba Community and staff at Eyre Business were sad to say goodbye to the wonderful Sunny as she packed up her pieces and continued her journey to her hometown of Meningie, South Australia. But we are excited to have her return in future for more exhibitions!

Eyre Business wishes to thank the Kimba Community for their wonderful support of the Hope in the Wind Exhibition & 1920s SpeakEasel Soiree, with a special thanks to our sponsors:
